VENTURE CREW
Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are at least 14 years of age and have completed the 8th grade through 20 years of age. The purpose of Venturing is to provide a positive experience to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.
Venturing is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth, adult leaders and organizations within their communities. Local community organizations establish a Venturing Crew by matching their people and program resources to the interests of young people in the community. The result is a program of exciting and meaningful activities that helps youth pursue their special interests, grow, develop leadership skills and become good citizens.
Venture Crew activities include rock and ice climbing, skiing, snowboarding, canoeing, kayaking, back-packing and mountaineering. They have traveled extensively conducting these activities in California, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania and most of the northeastern states.
If you are interested in learning more about this program or would like to become a member, the Venture Crew meets at the Post on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month at 7:30 p.m. For further information, feel free to contact Mike Robinson, Candy Patten, or Tom Wainwright through their phone numbers and email addresses listed on the Venture Crew's separate Internet website at http://venturecrew84.weebly.com.

(History of using number "84": Crew leadership requested number "84" when the original designation of the group changed from "Explorer Post 84." Post 290 previously sponsored a Boy Scout Troop 290, so the number distinction was important.
Post 290 sponsors BSA Venture Crew 84.)
